°ÀÇ°æÇè In May 2009, I graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

I¡¯ve had experience as a Teaching Assistant for a course entitled ¡°Management of Industrial and Nonprofit Organizations¡± at Brown University, as a personal tutor teaching reading and writing skills to a 25 year old autistic man, as a mentor instructing reading and writing skills for 5th and 6th graders at local Providence elementary schools, and in high school as a catechism Sunday schoolteacher for 4th and 5th graders.
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ After looking at my resume and credentials, I am sure that on the surface I must look like just another applicant who is applying because of the sour economy and dismal job opportunities.  If you look further at my experience in finance and investment internships, my application looks even more predictable and perhaps undeserving.  I should confess that I fully intended to work at a New York money management firm, Gagnon Securities, where I received a full-time job offer this past summer.  My offer was recently rescinded due to economic conditions and while this news initially left me dejected, I have faith that while that door has closed another has opened, and that opportunity is teaching in Korea.

I wish to join your organization because I have a deep and concerted interest in helping kids learn to the best of their ability.  I never realized until recently that I¡¯ve been training over the years for a vocation in education.

I want to have an immensely positive impact on the lives of students in Korea.  Honestly, I can¡¯t tell where this passion comes from.  I hope to instill true knowledge upon my students.  I believe that a quality education is made up of two parts: the acquisition of common knowledge skills (such as reading, writing, and mathematics) and also the strengthening of analytic and diagnostic skills.  Growing up as a kid in school, I was always excellent at taking tests, in that I memorized material and then regurgitated it for exams.  I know many of these students want their test scores raised, but I want to do more than just teach them how to perform well on tests.  I want to nurture their minds, get them excited about learning for the sake of learning, and have them possess this thirst for knowledge for the rest of their lives.

I am open to any teaching program in Korea.  While I can only speak English, I would be interested in teaching any subject.
