Dear Sir or Madam,
I have recently completed a Trinity TESOL certificate and am looking for work teaching English in South Korea. I also possess a degree and a masters degree.
I am twenty-four years old and have spent much of my life living in Oxford, England, but have lived in other cities for study and work. I am an enthusiastic young person who firmly believes in taking any opportunities to do something different as well as making an effort to find those opportunities yourself. I have recently spent some time travelling around America and Eastern Europe and think meeting new people from around the world and experiencing different cultures are the most enjoyable and interesting things that you can do.
I believe that education is a very important thing and this is why I want to embark on a career in teaching. Helping people develop and advance themselves through learning is something that gives me great pleasure. Eventually, I wish to embark on a career in educational psychology studying new learning techniques and helping to implement them. The experience of teaching a variety of ages and abilities will therefore give me valuable experience in the area. Although I have no formal experience teaching outside my TESOL certificate, I have had the experience of training people in previous jobs and had a large amount of exposure to childcare and child teaching whilst working as an administrator in a children's centre.
Asia has interested me since I was a child. My family used to operate as a homestay for a local language school that specialised in teaching Japanese and Korean students. By talking with them I was exposed to the culture, food and history of the continent from an early age, and this fascinated me. Despite having not visited before, I love travelling and experiencing other cultures and therefore wish to experience living in South Korea so I can witness the culture first hand.
