Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ Hello,
My name is Patrick Brown and I would like to teach English with your program. I am a native English speaker, US citizen, and current ESL (English as a second language) instructor seeking to advance my career. My experience, education, personal characteristics, and a desire to visit your country will make me an excellent addition to your program.
I have spent over 5 years working with students in different educational settings.  During this time I have worked with students from all corners of the globe. While all English learners are unique, they do share some similarities. One is the need to build strong fundamental skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar. These are the skills necessary to prosper in today¡¯s world.  They can certainly be learned, but they require an effective, energetic, and dedicated teacher. Over the years, with the aid of experience and education, I have developed my skills and teaching style to suit the modern English language learner.
I have taught ESL at 3 different learning institutions in the Seattle area. This area is home to a large Asian immigrant community. While working in this region I have gained invaluable real-world experience to effectively manage a class and promote learning. I utilize a variety of creative assignment ideas, fun learning activities, and enjoy integrating engaging media, such as music and video, into my lessons. Furthermore, I understand the greatest challenges faced by both the beginning and advanced English language learner. Previously, I taught in both Minnesota and New York, other areas with diverse multicultural populations.
My experience is supported by a strong University education. I have a B.A. in Human Physiology and a M.A. in Speech Communication. In my master¡¯s program I refined my command of the English language and developed the ability to be a highly effective communicator - priceless skills for anyone teaching a nuanced and often idiosyncratic foreign language.  Additionally, a significant portion of my degree program was devoted to teaching styles and teacher-student communication.  As an undergraduate I was a student of foreign languages myself, learning to speak some French and Spanish. Because of this background I have a stronger understanding of what it is like to take on the enormous task of learning a new language.
I believe that my credentials and commitment will make me a valuable addition to your program.  Furthermore, my other experience with international travel and study abroad will serve as extra preparation for my overseas experience.  I look forward to hearing from you and working together in the future.

Sincerely,

Patrick Brown
