Dear Sir:
Please accept this cover letter for the position of English as a Second Language teacher. Due to my background and experience, I am particularly interested in this position. I have an undergraduate degree in finance and am currently studying my Masters’ in Business administration. I have previous experience working with children and enjoy helping them obtain their potential. Helping English Language Learners through teaching would be professionally enriching and personally rewarding experience. While working in the financial sector I encountered several Korean exchange students that I became good friends with. I have a small understanding of some of the difficulties that they tackle while learning English.
My strengths include my interpersonal skills, integrity, enthusiasm, patience, and sense of commitment to tasks. I can create and maintain effective working relationships with people and work independently and as a member of a team. I am a conscientious worker accustomed to long hours and being in positions of support, leadership and responsibility.
As a result of my experiences in working with students of various ages while instructing tennis, I have learned to understand and appreciate the many challenges that such students must overcome in order to reach their goals. In order to maximize student understanding, retention, and success, I seek to employ a variety of strategies to meet students' needs.
Not only is it essential that the classroom be learning-focused, I find it also vital to provide encouragement and direction for students’ many personal challenges and. I have always considered myself (and believe that others would attest to this claim) to be an advocate for all students. I pride myself on seeking to meet students' academic needs and to provide the reinforcement that they need.
With my professional experiences and personal dedication, I am confident that I can serve to provide the instruction, encouragement, and support that students need and deserve. To make a difference in the lives of English students is an awesome opportunity and a challenge to which I am devoted.
