Dear Sir or Madam,
I am very excited about the possibility of teaching English in your schools and I know I possess the skills you seek. I have a strong command of English as a native speaker but that is of little use if I cannot communicate its intricacies to students. Fortunately, I have had a variety of experiences that have not only shown me how to share my knowledge with others but that have also shown me how enjoyable it can be to do so. For instance, as a teacher’s assistant (TA) for a cooking class in college I gained invaluable experience communicating my extensive culinary knowledge to my students which was very rewarding. Being a TA also gave me an appreciation of the difficulties teaching involves and helped me develop the skills to meet and overcome these problems. I also gained experience teaching through my many interactions with other students in college. I frequently tutored classmates on subjects they were less familiar with which taught me how to explain difficult concepts to my peers.
My interest in working in your country also comes from a deep respect and appreciation of your society. I love to explore the world and I have a strong curiosity about the people and customs of your nation. Through this experience I hope to enrich myself through immersion in your culture.
