I graduated recently from Nyack College with a bachelor's degree in History. I'm proud to have graduated Summa Cum Laude at the top of my class. My short-term goal is to gain further experience working as an ESL teacher in Korea. I served seven years at my church as a teacher and mentor, five of those years teaching English and tutoring on a part time basis. That experience really helped me to see what I am good at and enjoy doing. |

I am a Korean-American currently living in New York, an American citizen and native English speaker, a career-changer, and a recent college graduate looking for a new challenge. I am interested in the idea of relocating to Korea for at least one year and teaching and experiencing the dynamic Korean culture. I think it's an excellent opportunity to gain international experience, immerse myself in the Korean culture, and earn a decent wage all at the same time. Plus, most of the job's benefits package is very attractive. I have extensive experience teaching English at my church. Now I hope to get an opportunity to teach in a public or private school or even at a language institute (hakwon). What I am most passionate about is teaching and sharing my knowledge and offering my talents to my students in order to help them understand the world we live in and to grow as individuals and equip them to become better leaders and productive citizens in an ever increasingly competitive world. I enjoy interacting, problem-solving and working with others in order to achieve a goal. I consider myself to be flexible and results-oriented with a friendly, outgoing and positive attitude on life. I believe I can be an asset to any organization I will work for. I attribute my work ethic to my parents who raised me and my faith in God. |
