Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ RE: ENGLISH TEACHING POSITIONS IN SOUTH KOREA

I am offering my resume in regards to English Teaching positions in South Korea beginning August / September 2009.

I have held positions presenting a variety of challenges throughout my employment history and, over the past year, I have been enjoying Korean life in the city of Gwangju.  My previous position in South Korea as English Teacher was at an establishment teaching students of all ages.
With kindergarten students, I planned a different lesson for the five days a week they attended.  Their English learning development was mixed with such diverse activities as flash cards, writing, art, reading, cooking, science, and music.  The variety went a long way in keeping the children¡¯s attention.
The lessons I planned for students of grades one to twelve were based on textbooks with various learning objectives such as reading, comprehension, speaking, listening, and writing.  I also wrote a test every month ensuring the students were offered challenging questions based on their studies.
The adult classes were much more flexible in comparison.  They were based on a reading from a textbook or newspaper article.  Then we established the vocabulary and themes of the reading, and free conversation was had thereafter.  The students enjoyed exchanging ideas and forming opinions on the topic.  Each class was tailor made to the students¡¯ age and interests.  It is fascinating keeping up-to-date with Korean current affairs, culture, and popular culture.
As well as extensive teaching experience in Korea, I also understood how to teach English as a second language in London, England.  After studying for a TESOL qualification, I went on to teach adult students from all over the world.  I constructed a different lesson for every class, which ranged from conversation to comprehending grammar points.  It was quite a challenge engaging every student at once coming from such diverse backgrounds.

I have enjoyed my time teaching English in South Korea immensely and would like to continue the experience.

I look forward to hearing from you

Yours sincerely,

David McFarland
