My first teaching experience began in High School when I tutored struggling students in my Mothers elementary class room. I continued my teaching experience by taking several education classes at Adams State College. My first collegiate teaching experience came at Polson Elementary where I observed and tutored in a Special needs classroom for 8 hrs a week during fall semester of 2005. My second collegiate teaching experience was at La Jara Elementary where I helped and observe a Physical Education class 8 hrs a week during spring semester of 2006. I also observed and tutored at La Jara High School for a Spanish Class during fall semester of 2006. One of the last and most influential teaching experiences came from being a Teaching Assistant for Sociology Professor Grace Young during fall semester of 2007 and spring Semester of 2008. |

As an Adams State College graduate with excellent credentials and a genuine desire to teach, I am seeking a challenging and diverse teaching position which will allow me to generate a positive and creative atmosphere where students may thrive. I am confident that I will become a valuable asset to your school and to the education that it provides.
My passion for teaching began as a tutor for elementary students while I was attending high school, it continued to develop through college while working as a teaching assistant at Adams State College– a position awarded to those with the strong academic records and exceptional interpersonal skills. Interacting with students of different ages and academic levels has allowed me to work towards developing diverse, student centered lesson plans. This has also helped to develop a strong sense of classroom management. As a tutor helping a wide range of students, elementary students to college aged adults, I perfected my ability to adapt to the needs of individual students while advancing their understanding of concepts with which they struggled. While advancing a student’s understanding of assigned material I also worked to develop self-confidence, a higher sense of self worth, and a commitment to learning. My superiors have appreciated my commitment to my students, understanding of their needs, and the desire to see them succeed.
