°ÀÇ°æÇè By August 2009 I will have a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas, USA.  I am first in my class and have achieved a grade point average of 3.95 out of 4.00.  I majored in both physics and mathematics while simultaneously minoring in philosophy.

For the past 3 years I have been the tutoring and personnel manager for my university's Physics Tutoring Clinic. In addition to personally tutoring physics and mathematics, I have been responsible for the management of 15 other tutors¡¯ work schedule, the day-to-day clinic operation, the direct supervision of other tutors, and overall quality control.  I spearheaded the creation of an additional tutoring program which resulted in a 90% passing rate for participants.  Moreover, for the past few months I have served as a teaching assistant at my university by grading papers for a mathematical physics course.
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ To whom it may concern:

It has been my lifelong, committed passion to teach others.  The most personally gratifying experience I have ever had is to have the privilege of witnessing a student¡¯s eyes sparkle as an intellectual understanding takes root and grows in their brain.  To share even the most trivial bit of knowledge to a willing and excited audience is simply what drives me.  Consequently, I will always teach.  And, I wish to teach in Korea.  I wish to come to Korea simply so that I may share this passion with a culture that I am dying to get to know.
I want to translate the passion with which I have lived my life to the students of a wonderful, exciting, and magical country.  Korea is nothing short of a massive cultural odyssey.  I profoundly wish to be touched by the Korean way of life through my students and through my colleagues.  And, I wish to give a little bit of myself and my culture to them.  However, I do not want my experience to be perfunctory or trivial.  Most importantly, I wish to be able to incite intellectual zeal in my students and my new Korean friends; and I wish this to be abundantly evident in all aspects of my life.  I want to be able to look back on the next year and say that I have passionately pursued everything I possibly could—regardless of the inevitable speed-bumps along the way.
I know this experience will be a hard one.  It will not be easy to teach a group of people when I only speak a language with which they have little-to-no familiarity.  It will be difficult to express myself.  I will get frustrated.  I know my students will, too.  However, I know that frustration simply means that I must grow as a person and as an educator.  Therefore, I commit myself wholeheartedly to learning everything I can to express myself succinctly, efficiently, and clearly.  I want to teach English to the Koreans so that we can in some small way share our cultures.  However more personally, I want to instruct my future students so that we can both gain experiences that will shape the face of our mutual opportunities for the better.  The next year of my life will be the most challenging, fulfilling one yet.  I sincerely look forward to this experience.

Sincerely,

Layne Price
