As a B.A. graduate , majoring in English who also has a TESL diploma and prior relevant teaching experience, I am an ideal candidate to join your academy in the role of English Teacher. Since July 2010 I have been teaching English in a private Hogwon in Suwon, South Korea to children from an age range of 5 to 14 years of age. Previous to this I worked as a tutor in Toronto, Canada for a private language school as well as taking on private clients. The fact that I recently graduated from the TESL training course at International House Toronto ensures that I am familiar with current ESL teaching methodologies. I have been engaged in one on one tutoring since that time and would be comfortable in your academies environment and the past six months teaching in Korea has further refined my ability to effectively reach out to individuals from a variety of backgrounds. In a previous role as a Communications Officer with the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District I was responsible for a number of a duties including conferring with downtown business owners, writing a series of articles for newsletter and researching relevant information and best practices relating to Community Outreach projects. As a researcher with a TV production company I was involved in planning all travel arrangements and accommodations, researching and developing story arcs, and interviewing members of the public on sometimes very discreet matters. In addition to work and educational experience, the organizational tasks involved in helping to run a University club which was focused on issues of social justice and community involvement (pamphlets, brochures, press releases) gives me additional confidence that I can meet any and all demands of the position.
