I graduated from the University of California, Irvine as an English major in 2007. Then I went on to get my teaching credential in English. As a part of the credential program, I did my student teaching for about a year teaching high school students in English. I took on all the duties of a teacher in the classroom, preparing the lessons and teaching the students. I've been a private tutor for many years and have experience with children from ages 4 to high school. |

To whom it may concern:
I am interested in teaching English for a year in Seoul, Korea. I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Irvine with a BA in English and a single subject teaching credential in English as well. I think that a year in Korea would be a great opportunity to gain experience as I prepare for graduate school.
I have been working with children for a long time, and I really enjoy it. For four years in high school, I volunteered at a church organization where I led a group of children ages kindergarten to 2nd grade. I taught them teamwork through organized team games, concentration and patience through memorizing bible verses, and enthusiasm through praise songs. I also privately tutored for three years, and my students consisted of two boys and one girl through the grades 1-3 and 5-7. Throughout college, I continued to tutor junior high school and high school students in English ranging from helping with homework, essay writing, test taking strategies, and reading comprehension.
After graduating from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in English, I decided to carry over my love for English literature and children to get a teaching credential. The credential program was also at the University of California, Irvine while I did my student teaching at Canyon High School in Anaheim under the supervision of my master teacher, Jill Ellis. I taught two 10th grade honors English classes and helped assistant Jill with her other classes. My responsibilities ranged from lesson planning, creating tests and assignments, classroom management, grading assignments, etc. All in all, I would love to teach in Korea, and I look forward to hearing from you.
