Dear Sir or Madam,
I am very interested in applying for a teaching position in Seoul at the kindergarten, elementary or secondary level. I am confident that you will find my experience and qualifications are ideal.
As a 2008 graduate of the Bachelor of Education program at Nipissing University in Ontario, Canada, I was intrigued by the unique teaching and classroom environment that Korean schools can offer. Applying previous experience as a volunteer and student teacher, I worked as a kindergarten and elementary teacher at a private academy in Seoul from January 2009 through the following December. It was an unforgettable, enriching experience that I hope to repeat.
More recently, I spent more than two years teaching at another private academy in Seoul from July 2010 through August 2012. This experience deepened my enjoyment of teaching kindergarten and elementary students, and also provided opportunities to grow professionally. I maintained my own classroom, planned classes, and was responsible for the development of much more curriculum material.
One of my best qualities as a teacher is my ability to create an engaging learning environment. I encourage student participation with group work and activities that emphasize cooperation, written and spoken communication skills. I am also extremely comfortable with technology in the classroom, and regularly incorporate electronic resources and interactive media into my lessons.
My teaching experience has included students with overseas experience and exceptional fluency in English, as well as pre-kindergarten and elementary students at a more introductory level. I have successfully adapted lesson materials so they are appropriate to students' learning needs.
