Work-Experience: Gresham Primary School, Sanderstead, Surrey:
I voluntarily undertook work-experiencae at this School. My responsibilities included assisting the students with completing the set work, supervising a class of approximately 30 5th year students, alongside the teacher to create a positive learning environment whilst maintaining discipline and assisting in putting up displays and supporting with field trips and school activities.
Cumnor House Preparatory School, South Croydon, Croydon:
I voluntarily underwent work-experience at this school for the full Autumn Term. Whilst there I lead many reading lessons and took a few English lessons. Other lessons I took included Science and Geography. I worked in years 3 to 7 in such lessons as maths, English, French, history and ICT. Much of my work included helping a boy with moderate-to-severe dyslexia. I did much one-on-one work with him, or looked after the class whilst the teacher helped him.
Roke Primary School, Kenley, Surrey:
I voluntarily completed work-experience at this school. Whilst there I worked with different groups of children to help them to complete the work. For example, during maths lessons I worked with more able pupils to encourage them to think beyond the obvious, in things such as lines of symmetry. I also worked with individual pupils who needed extra help to complete the work. In one history lesson I went through the story of Boudicca with the whole class of 30 children, asking them questions to keep them involved and interested. I observed how to use, and participated in the use of, ICT in lessons. The different lessons I worked in included maths, literacy, ICT, science, history, art, French and P.E.
During all of this time I have done private tutoring for Korean children in English, both language and literature. |

For thae last three years I have been studying the Korean language. I want to move out there for at least a year to really get to grips with the language. I have had much experience in the classroom, working in three different schools, two state primaries (elementary) and one private preparatory school. Currently I am studying for a TEFL qualification and should complete it by July at the latest. |
