I hold a BA Honours Degree in Accounting and Human Resources (majoring in accounting) awarded by the National College of Ireland in 2007, and have been working as a trainee chartered accountant since graduation. I have some experience teaching.
During secondary school I volunteered by helping young kindergarten students with learning difficulties to read and write which greatly reduced the workload of the teaching staff whom often taught large classes.
Also, during my final year at secondary school, I helped fellow class-mates with their studies by conducting free after school tuition to those finding subjects like English, Irish, Business and Accounting difficult, as some students struggled with subjects that I found to be easily manageable.
During my time at university, I helped a Chinese friend whom was studying in my class, with English grammar, reading, writing and speech.
I find helping people very rewarding and get a real buzz from teaching others. |

After meeting some Korean people learning English in Ireland, many of whom I am still in regular contact, I have learned of how wonderful a place Korea would be to visit. For the previous year and a half, I have been working as a trainee chartered accountant whilst harboring a burning desire to teach and also to travel more.
After discovering that I am eligible to teach English in Korea with my degree I felt that it was a perfect time for me to satisfy my dreams and seek to find a suitable teaching job in Seoul. My experiences both professional and personal enable me to adapt and succeed in any environment with the help of excellent communication and inter-personal skills, coupled with being a very dedicated and committed person. I often challenge myself and am confident in my own abilities.
During my time working as a trainee chartered accountant (ACA), I developed valuable skills which I feel have helped in providing me with the confidence to peruse my lifelong dream of teaching. |
