Dear Sir / Madam,
My name is Dafydd Phillips. I am a Political Science graduate who is currently residing in Ireland. I attended the University of Limerick from 2007-2011 and received a 2.1 Honours Degree. I am twenty-two years of age and looking to teach English in Korea.
I have always wanted to teach English and Korea really appeals to me. I have friends who have been teaching in Korea for nearly three years and love it there. I receive great feedback from them about teaching and life in Korea. I have travelled extensively to a range of places and I am adaptable to change. During my time in university I spent six months on an Exchange programme in Sweden and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I believe I would adjust to the culture change quickly and would enjoy being in a new and different environment. I look forward to immersing myself in another culture, learning a new language and a new way of life.
Regarding my teaching experience, during my time in High School I assisted in a kinder garden overseeing students during outings and activities. I currently work part-time as a personal tutor to Middle school students, giving them extra lessons in English, Mathematics and Irish. I am familiar with developing lessons plans prior to classes for the benefit of the students as well as to keep parents informed of the material covered.
In relation to my professional experience during my time at Legal and Credit Management Services I excelled at working in difficult situations. I proved myself to be dedicated worker who is both organised and committed. My work relied heavily on effective communications skills which I had developed from my time in the University of Limericks Debating Union, in which I held the position of Vice-Auditor.
