Dear Hiring Manager
As an enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic and communication skills, I am very interested in coming to Korea to teach English. In application, attached is my resume for your review.
As indicated in my resume, I graduated in April 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in both Economics and Business Administration.
Although I have no professional teaching experience, I believe that I have obtained knowledge that would be beneficial for a teaching position through other means. I've been able to gain teaching experience at my current place of employment, Sobey's grocery store. At Sobey's, I have been asked many times to train new employees to ensure that they obtain the skills necessary to complete their work correctly and in a timely fashion.
I've also gained teaching experience through coaching. After graduating high school, my coach asked me to come back and help coach the position I played while I was a student. I was able to effectively instruct various drills and exercises that I had learned as a player. I was also able to provide suggestions to the players about how they could improve their skill sets. It was a very rewarding experience to watch the player's progress through the camp and to see the players use the skills and techniques that I had taught them in practice.
A third reason that I believe I will be a successful teacher is because my Mom is a Kindergarten teacher. I've gone to help her set up her classroom as well as observe her teach. I have been able to witness first hand various techniques she uses for teaching young students.
Working part time while enrolled in University has allowed me to develop a strong work ethic and has allowed me to become very successful in prioritizing tasks. Through my previous work experience I have also demonstrated that I am able to communicate respectfully with clients and staff of diverse backgrounds and that I am able quickly adapt and learn in new work environments. Working several different types of jobs has also allowed me to become successful at working individually, as well as in team environments. Both qualities I believe that are very important for the teaching possess.
I also have a passion for traveling and a keen interest to learn about different cultures. Being able to move to Korea would be an amazing opportunity to learn about Korean culture, and also an opportunity to share my own Canadian culture with others.
