Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ I am a Canadian citizen and was born on April 3 1981.  My parents are from Korea but I was born in Canada and have lived here my entire life.  I am presently finishing up my studies as a Masters student in the School for International Studies at Simon Fraser University focusing my studies in Complex Emergencies and Failed States.  I believe that the research, interpersonal, teaching and analytical skills that I have acquired throughout my years in university would make me an ideal candidate for the position as English Teacher.

My years in university have enhanced my research and analytical skills and have helped me develop an appreciation towards the need for attention to detail in the research process. The independent learning structure of university life has also assisted me in improving my time-management and organizational skills, whilst past employment as a teaching assistant in university-level classrooms and in English schools has facilitated the development of better interpersonal skills and multi-tasking skills.  My experience teaching in university-level classrooms has allowed me to develop skills in facilitating discussion from various points and perspectives offered by students, while my experience as an English teacher in Mexico allowed me to develop a sensitivity to the different processes of language learning.  My knowledge of the Korean and Spanish language has also been very useful in teaching English as it  has heightened my awareness of the difficulties associated with the process of learning foreign languages.

Aside from the skills I have acquired from past experiences, I have an extremely keen interest in teaching English in Korea.  It is my future goal to further my studies and do a PhD in a topic related to Korean politics, hence to be able to live there and develop my Korean language skills would be a step further in the direction I hope to be going.  Therefore, with all of the skills that I have gained from my experiences and from my passion to learn more about Korean society and politics I feel that I can be of excellent assistance to your staff and I look forward to using this experience to contribute to your school.

I look forward to discussing with your how I can make a strong contribution to your team. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Hyun Kim
