ESL Agent
Dear Hiring Manager:
I was put in touch with ESL Agent through a friend, Patrick Murphy, who
is currently teaching with the program in Seoul. I believe my education
and work experience would make me a perfect candidate to teach English
abroad.
While at Chapman University, I majored in communications and minored in
English. I excelled in writing classes and one assignment was even
chosen for the school’s recruitment catalog. I was also extremely
involved in on-campus activities, whereupon I gained the ability to wear
many hats at once and develop relationships with all kinds of people.
For the past four years, I have been fortunate enough to work for the
global market leader in commercial news distribution. By reading
thousands of press releases, I have developed an even greater grasp of
the English language, which would undoubtedly help me to be a better
teacher. Prior to my time with Business Wire, I was a teacher’s
assistant at a preschool for special-needs children and a camp counselor
for two consecutive summers, so I have direct experience working with
and leading all age groups of children.
As a volunteer for the African Community Center, I have interacted with
people from a variety of cultures. I studied abroad in London, so I know
I am comfortable with living away from home, and my travels to Thailand,
Singapore and Bali have made me more prepared to live in an Asian
country.
